Monument Nasional ( Monas )
National monument ( Monas ) is an icon of Jakarta. It is loceted at the back of Indonesian presidental palace, anf becoming the central landmark of the city. Monas was establish in 1961 and it was officially opened to public on 12 July 1975. Monas is always crowded visited by tourist because of its beauty.
Monas structure consist of lower court, upper court, and the flame, the overall height about 132 meters. The entire building is covered by a marble, but the flame was coated by gold with 45 kilograms of weight. At the bottom of this monument there is a park which is frequented by locals.
As an icon of the capital state, Monas also be a place of education for the visitors because of the national history museum, it is located at the bottom of the Monas. This museum displays the history of Indonesian nation's struggle. The board of museum is 80x80 meters. On the fourth side of the museum there are 12 dioramas (window displays) that displays the history of Indonesian from the time of the kingdoms ancestors until G30SPKI incident.
